Barcombe's final match was not without stress or tension...it honestly looked as if Plumpton would break their unbeaten record in this year's League competition. Good bowling by Dianne took out three vital wickets and with 10 runs an over required in the last 5 overs it looked too much of a task. However, that was without reckoning on Janet Hughes and her sheer determination, not only carrying her bat but smashing a wonderful 6 in the last over that turned events on their head. Sara Hepple bravely stepping up to the plate knowing 2 runs needed on the last ball...tip and run like hell...2 runs achieved and a victory by one run....brilliant match to end a great season.
