A lovely summer evening to play this fixture with Wivelsfield batting first and putting 113 on the board from their 15 overs, with Nicky scoring 59 not out. Some superb fielding by Poppy earned her the nomination for player of the match. Barcombe then batted and passed the required total in the 11th over. Angharad scoring 58 runs and three wickets to earn her the nomination of player of the match.
This match was played in the evening following the funeral of our Divisional President, Daphne Hunt. The funeral saw the stoolball family gathered from all generations of the game to say our farewells to one of our great characters in the sport. A glass of Pimms was raised after the game in her memory, a lovely tribute.
